It was dark in the hallway, much darker than she would have liked it to be. The dark seemed to bring back all the memories that she had been trying to dissolve, tried to cut out of her brain. Though her long nights awake and all of the therapy she had when through meant nothing when she was in the dark. The haunting words of him.
Never the less Lexi spent her time in the halls not really wanting to make it back to her dorm. No what she really wanted was an escape from this black hole. Would they ever find her fit enough to leave, or would they keep her here just take make a few more bucks each days she spent away from the real world.
A few months ago she had been begging for an escape. An escape from the people who though of her as a liar and a brat. The ones that hated her for putting him in jail. The beloved fireman who was nothing more to her than the reason she was here now. This was her escape. Now Lexi wanted nothing more than to be far far from her and out in the world on her own. Not relying on anyone but herself.
